Meeting Young Readers
One of the absolute joys of attending author events is meeting incredible readers, and this weekend at the Columbia River Author Festival, I had the most heartwarming encounter. A bright-eyed young girl asked to take my picture—turns out, she’s the granddaughter of an author and spent the day visiting all of us, asking questions while radiating pure excitement and enthusiasm. Watching her soak up the magic of storytelling was a reminder of why we do what we do. Future author in the making? I sure hope so!
